THATO SEOPA TALKS ENTRY INTO BUSINESS

In recent years we have seen a rise in strong and powerful women in business, and though things have not reached the level of equality we are all looking for, but we are seeing more women step up and kicking butt.

Yes as men in business, we have to do more to support and give opportunities to women who deserve to step up to be at greater heights, and we need to learn not to expect any favours in return when we work side by side with women.

To talk more about women in business, and how be a great entrepreneur and succeed, we talk to Thato Seopa, and get to explore her mind.

Q1. Please shine the light on who Thato is.

1. I am a former fitness professional, currently in the Education sphere but I have a heart for entrepreneurship. I resonate with the idea of standing on my own two feet.

Q2. What is your overall opinion on women in business locally and globally?

2. Doors can be opened wider for women in all spheres respectivelly. There are still women who get paid less than men in certain industries and I see that as high injustice.

Q3. What would you say sustains a business, especially looking at small businesses.

3. Relevance sustaind a business. Business plans still play a punitive role in ensuring the success of a company. Sticking to the exact focus and aim of a business will enhance the values that uphold the particular business.

Q4. What makes a good entrepreneur.

4. A good entrepreneur is someone who puts people first. Greed drives copious amounts of entrepreneurs to run after big amounts money and forget that ordinary people also add value to the running of a company.

Q5. What do you look for when entering into a business, whether new or existing.

5. I establish whether it is started on a good foundation and whether there is room for growth- for me as an individual and for the business’ expansion.

Q6. Looking at the effect that Covid_19 has on our economy and global economy, what is it that you think small businesses can do to survive this pandemic.

6. Unfortunately no one has prepared for this pandemic. Only government can take the lead as they are in the leadership position enabling them to take decisions such as lockdown. Companies are suffering because no production equals to no pay. From my point of view, an entrepreneur is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Q7. In your words, what would you say to a person looking to venture into business, especially the young generation.

7. Be more open to thinking out of the box. Don’t conform to society. Think of new ways of building a brand, new ways in which you can get people interested in a product. Think of daily challenges, and think of ways that daily challenges can be minimised through new inventions and ideas.
